A modular solution to meet the energy needs of infrastructures, smart grids, buildings, data centers and ports.
EQUANS and INOCEL announce the signature of a partnership to develop an energy storage and production solution using decarbonated hydrogen.
This collaboration brings together INOCEL, a leader in high-power hydrogen fuel cells, and EQUANS, a world leader in the energy and services sector, to meet the challenges of low-carbon energy production. The aim is to provide a turnkey, high-performance, environmentally-friendly energy generation solution for a variety of use cases, such as :
- Dockside electrification (cold ironing) to limit greenhouse gas emissions in ports, particularly for ships;
- Decarbonized propulsion and power generation for ships;
- Storage of intermittent renewable energies in the form of hydrogen, then reuse on customer demand;
- Load shedding and balancing of power grids;
- Emergency power generation for critical industrial and tertiary infrastructures such as data centers, hospitals, operational buildings and banks;
- Mobile generators, needed for sites not connected to the electrical grid or requiring additional power, to replace diesel generators and batteries;
INOCEL and EQUANS will be able to supply energy storage and generation solutions ranging from 300 kW to several MW by 2025, particularly for port and smart grid infrastructures. These high power ratings, a real strength and differentiator of the solution, will enable companies to make an effective commitment to the transition to renewable energies.
For the hydrogen generator, INOCEL will supply the fuel cell, while EQUANS will take care of containerization. If the customer requires a complete hydrogen solution, including hydrogen production, storage and energy generation, INOCEL and EQUANS will combine their expertise and draw on their partner networks to cover the entire value chain. This collaboration will enable them to offer a turnkey solution perfectly tailored to customer needs.
This innovative solution contributes to the decarbonization of energy, particularly in sectors where batteries do not guarantee sufficient autonomy. It enables us to meet the needs of customers who want to control the entire hydrogen value chain, as well as all the customer challenges in a booming sector.
“ Hydrogen must play a key role in the energy transition, and we see immense potential in its development to decarbonize industry and mobility. With INOCEL, we are providing an innovative, high-performance solution to support this strategic development. ”
“ This strategic partnership illustrates our commitment to deploying innovative turnkey solutions integrating the entire hydrogen value chain. The collaboration between INOCEL and EQUANS enables us to offer our customers energy storage and generation solutions that combine performance, cost-competitiveness and decarbonization. ”
