Smart buildings
Some EQUANS references in smart buildings
La Défense, Paris, France
On a high-rise building under construction, EQUANS is carrying out the low and high voltage systems, HVAC and plumbing. EQUANS teams also manage the fire safety systems, all the security with video protection, access control, intrusion, connectivity with the WIFI network and GSM. This project is being carried out entirely in BIM by EQUANS experts.
BNP Paribas Fortis headquarters, Brussels, Belgium
EQUANS installed the electrical and HVAC systems for the new headquarters. In terms of HVAC equipment, the use of a Seasonal Thermal Energy Storage (STES) system is the most notable feature. This installation is possible thanks to a nearby groundwater table, which feeds a 13,000 m³ water basin to conserve thermal energy. This ingenious system allows the building's heating and cooling demand to be met, while reducing energy consumption by seven compared to the old building.
Springvale Urban Screen, Melbourne, Australia
At this venue, which includes a public library, learning rooms, casual care facilities, exhibition space, conference facilities and large landscaped public spaces, EQUANS was commissioned to provide and integrate the latest audio-visual technologies into the outdoor public spaces, including the urban screen and its associated sound system and event infrastructure. EQUANS has therefore produced a large-scale urban LED screen, capable of displaying text, graphics and video content. The aim is to develop audience engagement with the services offered by the venue, while encouraging social interaction.
Isala Hospital, Meppel, The Netherlands
The construction consortium TDE (Trebbe, Dura Vermeer and EQUANS) has delivered the first all-electric hospital in the Netherlands, a pioneer in terms of sustainability, energy efficiency, hygiene and flexible use of space. 400 solar panels and storage units will provide part of the building's energy. A maintenance contract for the site was also signed for 25 years.
Office building, Leeds, UK
For a prestigious 5,000 m2 office building, EQUANS provided a state-of-the-art technology infrastructure, enabling more efficient working and the achievement of key sustainability and environmental objectives. - Remote monitoring of mechanical and electrical equipment through IoT mesh connectivity and intelligent lighting, ensuring that energy use can be minimised. - Bio-security system that also notifies when cleaning of floors and desks is required based on motion sensors.
